  • Primary Photographer: The primary photographer (also known as the lead photographer) is the main professional assigned to a photography assignment. They handle consultations, manage the timeline, capture photographs, organize the editing process, and deliver the final images. Essentially, they oversee all photo-related aspects before, during, and after the photography assignment.
  • Associate Photographer: As an Assistant Photographer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the lead photographer during photography assignments. Your primary responsibility is to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, assist with equipment setup, and capture additional angles or moments. You’ll collaborate closely with the lead photographer, clients, and other team members to create exceptional images.
  • Photography Assistant: As a Photography Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the lead photographer during photography assignments. Your primary responsibility is to ensure a seamless workflow, assist with equipment handling, and capture additional angles or moments. You’ll collaborate closely with the lead photographer, clients, and other team members to create exceptional images

Overview: Are you passionate about capturing the magic of love through your lens? Idaho Photography Studios seeks a talented and dedicated part-time wedding photographer to join our team and create beautiful memories for couples in the Treasure Valley of Idaho.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Medium-Format Camera Equipment: Candidates must possess and be proficient in using medium-format camera equipment.
  • Normal, Wide-angle, and Telephoto Lenses.
  • Strobe Lighting Expertise: Proficiency in operating strobe lighting and controlling their settings is essential.
  • Bi-Color LED Mono Lighting Expertise: Proficiency in operating LED Monolights and controlling their settings is essential.
  • Experience: Showcase your proven track record in the world of wedding photography.
  • Portfolio: A comprehensive portfolio or website showcasing previous wedding photography work is mandatory. This should highlight the candidate’s style, creativity, and technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Capture high-quality images before, during, and after wedding ceremonies.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their vision and requirements.
  • Edit and deliver exceptional final images within agreed-upon timelines.

Qualifications:

Assistant Photographer (During Photography Assignment)

Position Title: Assistant Photographer Assignment Type: Photography Session (Wedding, Portrait, Event, etc.)

Overview: As an Assistant Photographer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the lead photographer during photography assignments. Your primary responsibility is to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, assist with equipment setup, and capture additional angles or moments. You’ll collaborate closely with the lead photographer, clients, and other team members to create exceptional images.

Minimum Requirements:

  • SLR Digital Camera Equipment: Candidates must own and be proficient in using SLR camera equipment.
    • Camera: Must be capable of shooting RAW images and have auto-bracket capabilities.
    • Camera Lighting: Posses one on-camera “Hot Shoe” strobe capable of being removed and used off-camera using a sync cable or other triggering method.
    • Medium-format experience is strongly desired but not required.
  • Normal, Wide-angle, and Telephoto Lenses.
  • Strobe Lighting Expertise: Being proficient in operating strobe lighting and controlling their settings is essential.
  • Bi-Color LED Mono Lighting Expertise: Being proficient in operating LED Monolights and precisely controlling their settings is essential.
  • Experience: Showcase your proven track record in the world of wedding photography.
  • Portfolio: A comprehensive portfolio or website showcasing previous wedding photography work is mandatory. This should highlight the candidate’s style, creativity, and technical skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Setup and Maintenance:
    • Assist in setting up camera gear, lighting equipment, and accessories.
    • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and ready for use.
    • Handle lens changes, battery swaps, and memory card management.
  2. Lighting and Composition:
    • Help position reflectors, diffusers, and additional lighting sources.
    • Collaborate with the lead photographer to achieve optimal lighting conditions.
    • Pay attention to composition and framing while capturing candid moments.
  3. Secondary Angles and Details:
    • Capture alternate angles, close-ups, and unique perspectives.
    • Focus on details such as rings, flowers, and decor.
    • Be ready to photograph spontaneous moments beyond the lead photographer’s view.
  4. Assist with Posing and Group Shots:
    • Help organize group photos during weddings or events.
    • Guide subjects into natural poses.
    • Keep an eye out for any adjustments needed (e.g., fixing hair, adjusting clothing).
  5. Assist in Other Assigned Photography Shots:
    • For Weddings: Coverage of other activities, such as the bride or groom getting ready or reception coverage. Reception coverage includes highlights, such as the first dance and cake cutting.
  6. Client Interaction:
    • Be friendly, approachable, and professional with clients.
    • Assist in coordinating family portraits or group shots.
    • Address any client requests or concerns promptly.
  7. Backup and Support:
    • Be prepared to step in if the lead photographer needs assistance.
    • Backup shots during critical moments (e.g., ceremony, first dance).
    • Assist with lens changes or camera adjustments.
  8. Post-Processing Assistance:
    • Help organize and transfer image files.
    • Assist with culling and selecting the best shots.
    • Participate in basic editing tasks (if required).

Qualifications:

  • Photography Experience: Demonstrated prior experience in the field of photography needed (formal training or practical work).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with camera settings, lenses, and lighting equipment.
